Augusta Lawn Care Services Snow Removal Contract 2024-25

Snow Removal General Service Terms
Snow clearing will commence after a snow accumulation of 5cm's. Included are follow-up visits after city and sidewalk plows and repeat clearings during prolonged, heavy snowstorms.
The timing of service visits will vary from storm to storm The customer is responsible for all snowfalls of less than 5cm, accumulated and drifting snow, freezing rain, and ice, between threshold snowfalls (5cm snowfalls).
Augusta Lawn Care Services will make every effort to have your laneway cleared within 6-24 hours of completion of the snow event.
The term of this contract is from November 1st to April 15th of the indicated season, or up to a total accumulation of 300 cm of snow as recorded by the Macdonald-Cartier Int’l Airport (most current 10-yr average is approximately 177 cm for this area). The customer agrees to pay a surcharge proportional to the amount of the contract should we exceed 300 cm
If more than 300cm has accumulated:

Contract service is up to a maximum of 300cm as recorded by Environment Canada for the season.

If more than 300cm has accumulated then a further per cm charge will apply.

Total amount before tax divided by 300, (ex. $500.00 / 300cm =$1.66 (plus tax) per extra cm of snow that falls after 300cm).
Driveway Clearing

Only 1 driveway pass completed for snow falls under 7cm. This pass will start once city snow plows have passed or the snow has stopped falling.

A min. of $50.00 + HST applies if customer requests to have laneway cleared other then a 5cm snowstorm day.

A min of $30.00 + HST applies for customers that request their walkway to be cleared but are not signed up for walkway shovelling.

The customer is responsible to make access for our equipment by removing vehicles, garbage cans or recycling containers; floor mats, extension cords and downspouts, branches. Augusta Lawn Care Services operators or shovelers can refuse to clear the snow if objects are in the way. Augusta Lawn Care Services operators shall be permitted to remove snow at any time of day or night.

Our equipment cannot operate in close proximity to all stationary objects. It is the customer’s responsibility to clear any snow left approx. 1 to 2 feet adjacent to retaining walls, garage doors, houses, fences, etc.

After our first pass, you will receive an automated email notifying you to move any vehicles that might have been in your driveway. This will allow us to clear the rest of the driveway when we come back to clear the city plow debris.

IF vehicles are not moved before the second/final pass, an extra charge of $50.00 + HST will be charged to return outside of regular schedule.

City plow debris will be cleared as promptly as possible. City sidewalks plow debris will only be cleared if it is concurrent with the clearing of the city road plow debris.

In case of large snowfalls of 25cm+ general service time frames do not apply. Delays in service can occur.

Downslope driveways must be salted by the customer. We can not guarantee full cleaning of driveways if not maintained safely.
Walkway Shovelling

Shovelling service only occurs once per snowfall.

Shovelling includes clearing all walkways/patios leading to the front door, as well as the snow in front of the garage door that our tractors could not clear.

The shovelling crews start once it stopped snowing and they can take up to 18 hours to complete their lists. This service does not include the removal of snow accumulation resulting from roof cleaning, drifting snow, or the removal of ice from the walkway resulting from freezing rain, sleet or compaction

No salting or sanding is included in walkway clearing.
Payment

We request payment and a signed contract/digitally accepted estimate before we start the service. (Nov 1st 2021)

Payment can be made by e-transfer, cheque or credit card.

If payment is not made 15 days from the due date, SERVICE WILL STOP.

If client wishes to pay in 2 separate payments, we require a postdated cheque for the second payment. (Jan 1st 2022)

Making a payment means acknowledging & agreeing to contract terms.

Should you wish to cancel the contract your will be refunded a prorated amount. There will be a $30 administrative fee applied.
Augusta Lawn Care Services assumes:
NO responsibility for surface scratching, rust marks, or surface damage to all driveways.
NO responsibility for damage to downspouts, electrical cords, or objects hidden under the snow or anything that projects borders or it is left in the laneway. ALL Damages must be reported by June 1st in order to be compensated for.
NO responsibility for ice build-up for any reason of any sort.
NO responsibility for any loss or inconvenience to the client due to circumstances beyond our contract.
By Accepting "Snow Removal" on this estimate you accept and agree to all terms within this contract.
